Grease ist der Name eines Films aus dem Jahr 1978, der auf dem gleichnamigen Musical aus dem Jahr 1971 basiert. Die Hauptrollen spielten John Travolta und Olivia Newton-John. Handlung: Im Sommer 1959 trifft Danny Zuko, Mitglied der T-Birds, Sandy Olsson, ein unschuldiges Mädchen aus Australien, am Strand und sie verlieben sich ineinander. Als der Herbst kommt, muss Sandy zurück nach Australien. Doch dann ziehen Sandys Eltern um und sie geht nun auf die Rydell High School, welche Danny auch besucht. Sie trifft eine Gruppe von Mädchen, die Pink Ladies, und freundet sich schnell mit diesen an. Nicht wissend, was gerade passiert, erzählen Danny und Sandy ihren Freunden von ihrer Bekanntschaft. Danny und Sandy werden einander von Betty Rizzo, der Anführerin der Pink Ladies, wieder „vorgestellt", und sie entscheiden sich, ihre Romanze wiederaufleben zu lassen, leider nicht ohne ständige Einmischung der T-Birds, Pink Ladies und einer rivalisierenden Gang, den Scorpions. Danny und Sandy gehen gemeinsam zum Schultanzwettbewerb. Die T-Birds schaffen es jedoch, die beiden auseinanderzubringen und Danny mit seiner Exfreundin Cha-Cha DiGregorio, einer hübschen Salsatänzerin, zusammenzubringen. Danny und Cha-Cha gewinnen den Wettbewerb. Sandy verlässt die Veranstaltung mit gebrochenem Herzen.
